Description

A cozy and classic dish, this Salisbury Steak is perfect for a hearty weeknight dinner, featuring savory patties smothered in creamy gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and form into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add butter and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until mushrooms are soft, about 4 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps, creating a gravy.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens.
  6. Return the cooked patties to the skillet, coat in gravy, and let simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve hot alongside your favorite sides, like creamy mashed potatoes or steamed green beans.

Notes

Feel free to customize with cheese, mustard, or fresh herbs for added flavor. Make ahead and store for up to 3 days.
