- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice

- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup lemon buttercream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk, strawberry puree, and lemon juice until combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost the cakes with lemon buttercream frosting and stack them.

Notes
For an extra burst of flavor, add grated lemon zest to the batter. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
