Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine (or grape juice)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper on all sides.
  3. In a large pan, sear the ribs over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
  4. Remove the ribs from the pan and set aside.
  5. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the same pan. Sauté until translucent.
  6. Stir in the beef broth, grape juice, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer gently.
  7. Place the seared ribs in a roasting pan and pour the sauce over them.
  8. Cover the pan tightly with foil and roast for about 180-240 minutes, or until the meat is tender.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
