Description

A quick and easy dish combining sweet and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknights and sure to be a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Turkey (extra-lean)
  • 34 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil (optional)
  • Optional: Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)
  • 2 stalks Green Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Neutral Oil (Canola or Avocado)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Start by finely mincing the garlic and chopping the green onions. Set aside for later.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, pour in the neutral oil and let it warm for a minute.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
  4. Brown the turkey: Tumble in the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth.
  6. Combine everything: Pour the sauce over the cooked turkey and stir well. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing all the flavors to meld beautifully.
  7. Add heat (optional): If you’re craving some spice, sprinkle in the red pepper flakes and give it a mix.
  8. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle the chopped green onions on top. Serve warm over steamed rice or lettuce wraps for a lighter option.

Notes
