Description

A cozy and elegant dish featuring tender, caramelized leeks in herb butter and beef broth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large leeks
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons herb butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Trim and clean the leeks, cutting off the root end and the tough green tops. Rinse them thoroughly to remove any grit.
  3. In a skillet, melt herb butter over medium heat.
  4. Sear the leeks in the skillet until they are golden brown on all sides.
  5. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the beef broth, season with salt and pepper, then cover and transfer to the oven.
  7. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the leeks are soft enough to cut with a fork.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Make-ahead option: Prepare the leeks and place them in the broth earlier in the day, then bake when ready to serve.
