Description

A creamy, comforting dish featuring tender chicken thighs and sweet apples, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully place your chicken thighs in the skillet and brown them on both sides.
  2. Remove the chicken thighs and set them aside. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Pour in the apple cider and bring it to a gentle simmer. Return the chicken to the skillet and cover it. Let braise for about 30 minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to meld with the apple cider.
  5. Caramelize the apple slices in a separate pan over medium heat until golden brown.
  6. Serve the chicken hot, topped with the creamy sauce and caramelized apples, finishing with fresh thyme.

Notes

Make ahead: Prepare the chicken and sauce a day in advance for easy reheating.
