  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  2. Mix the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing well to combine.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla.
  5. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Stir in the chocolate chips if using.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are slightly soft.

Notes

You can prepare the dough in advance and freeze for later. Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for the best texture.
