Description

Delicious banana bread cinnamon rolls infused with the comforting flavors of cinnamon and ripe bananas, perfect for cozy mornings or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mash the bananas in a separate bowl and mix them with the melted butter and vanilla. Combine this banana mixture into the yeast mixture.
  3. Add the flour and salt gradually, mixing to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread cinnamon, brown sugar, and sliced bananas evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, then cut into rolls.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and luscious for the frosting.
  11. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls and serve to delighted friends and family.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the dough the night before and refrigerating it overnight. Use a sharp knife or dental floss to slice the rolls neatly without squashing them.
