Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (or any mix-ins you desire)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Mix together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, stirring until fully combined.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips or your choice of mix-ins.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let it cool, then cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes
