Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  7. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll them in sugar.
  8. Place the dough balls onto ungreased baking pans and flatten each with a glass.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until golden but soft in the center.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough to prevent spreading. These cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months.
