Description
A comforting recipe for Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes, perfect for cozy evenings with loved ones.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 6 hamburger buns
- 6 slices yellow cheese
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat, allowing it to get nice and hot.
- Place the ground beef in the pan, seasoning it generously with salt and pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon until it’s beautifully browned.
- Transfer the beef to the slow cooker; it’s okay if it’s not fully cooked.
- Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, prepared mustard, smoked paprika, and a pinch more salt and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 180 minutes or LOW for 360 minutes.
- Spoon the mixture onto the hamburger buns and top with a slice of cheese before serving.
