- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Place the cleaned wings into a large mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and black pepper.
- Whisk until the brown sugar is dissolved and mixed well.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken wings and toss gently.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top, greasing it with olive oil.
- Remove the wings from the marinade and arrange them in a single layer on the rack.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Halfway through, brush the wings with reserved marinade.
- Switch to broil for the last 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving warm.
