Description

A delightful twist on the classic grilled cheese, using soft and sweet Hawaiian rolls for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional: Sliced tomatoes or crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half without cutting all the way through, creating little pockets for the cheese.
  2. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and butter the insides of each roll generously.
  3. Place the bottom halves of the rolls on the skillet and fill them generously with shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
  4. Press down slightly with the top halves of the rolls to keep everything nestled in.
  5. Grill the rolls until they turn a beautiful golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Once both sides are crispy and the cheese has melted, remove from heat, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to customize with additional ingredients like tomatoes or bacon. Make ahead for convenience.
