Description

A cozy and elegant side dish featuring fresh green beans and earthy mushrooms sautéed in garlic butter, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the green beans by trimming the ends and rinsing them thoroughly under cold water, then set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and sizzling.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned and softened.
  5. Add the green beans to the skillet, season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir to combine.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook the green beans for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until tender but crisp.
  7. Remove the lid and add the remaining tablespoon of butter; stir until melted and coats the vegetables.
  8. Add the lemon juice, stirring well to combine, and remove from heat once cooked to your liking.
  9. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

To enhance texture, consider adding toasted nuts, cheese, or other vegetables if desired.
