Description
Delicate cookies with a rich, creamy flavor and a tempting sprinkle of flaky sea salt, delivering a perfect balance of sweet and salty.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Flaky sea salt for sprinkling, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed until creamy and light, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the sifted flour and salt, mixing on low speed until just combined; the dough should be soft and slightly sticky.
- Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and roll it into balls, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space in between.
- Sprinkle the tops with flaky sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden; they may look slightly underbaked in the center.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Sift flour for fluffier cookies. You can prepare the dough ahead of time and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
