Description

A comforting and easy weeknight dinner featuring tender chicken simmered in marinara sauce, topped with melted cheeses.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, lining them up side by side.
  2. Pour the marinara sauce generously over the chicken, ensuring every piece is coated.
  3. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is tender.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top of the chicken about 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Cover and continue cooking until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Serve over cooked pasta, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
