Description

A cozy classic coffee cake that’s moist, tender, and perfect for sharing with loved ones.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cream the softened butter until smooth. Add in the eggs and vanilla, mixing well until fluffy.
  4. Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter mixture, blending until just combined—be careful not to overmix!
  5. Combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into your prepared pan, followed by half of the cinnamon mixture. Then, add the remaining batter on top.
  7. Finish by sprinkling the rest of the cinnamon mixture over the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing into this delectable treat.
