Ingredients

  • 6 cups bread, cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the cubed bread and milk in a large bowl and let it soak for about 10 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the soaked bread and mix well. If using raisins, fold them in now.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
